Risky Behavior.

Don't get any ideas. I'm not talking about your run-of-the-mill use of drugs, alcohol, or guns... No! I'm talking much, much worse! I'm talking about playing risk when you've got homework due in the morning! This is serious stuff here, people. I'm not joking around one bit!

Too much? I think the title made some people close the web page before they even looked down at the words! Or maybe it intrigued some readers, and they were disappointed at the relatively uncontroversial message? I don't know, but I think at the very least you have to give me credit for a bad pun. But back to my point with the whole "risky behavior" idea.

Let's face it, there are a ton (literally) of really fun things to do in college. Risk is one of them. But your bane may be more benign seeming. Do you spend hours at the dining hall? Talking to everyone and staying until they kick you out? Do you spend all your time in the red room? Playing games like Fifa '11 and Mario Kart Double Dash? Yeah, I bet you chase the hours away proving to your unbelieving friends that Bowser, when used by an expert like yourself, is the best driver in the game. Or do you have a significant other that you just can't pull yourself away from?

So what do we do when everything is demanding our time and our attention? We need to prioritize and cut time wasters out. It's really as simple as that. I'll even spare you a little time here and give you just a few bullet points that could help you make the most of your time.

-Find time during the day in between classes. This is the number one way to make sure you are making the most of your time. The time slots are open anyway, and you have better things to do than level up in Oblivion.

-Plan ahead. Study time should be study time; it should be set apart and not simply free time. Because we all know that we'd much rather spend a bunch of time on facebook, or stumbleupon than finish that college writing paper. (Bonus tip: put facebook on your phone so you spend less time looking at those cute pictures Kara just put up, and more time figuring out the value of X.)

-No big study groups. You know all too well why, don't you? You big gossip!!

-Teach a friend some material. It'll help you learn the material much better, and it can be fun if it's something that your friend is interested in!

-Make sure you have everything you need to study with you. It wastes a lot of time if you sit down to study, and you realize you forgot your Arizona iced tea (because we all know that is essential to studying!).
