JUSTICE LEAGUE, ASSEMBLE!

Yes, we are THE JUSTICE LEAGUE!
So clearly dressing up on Halloween is not just for grade schoolers in little ghost costumes and Jason masks; on the 31st of October, a bunch of friends and I took the "scary" out of Halloween and swore to defend the meek and the helpless innocent students of Olivet.
Ok! Fine! Maybe we aren't really Superheroes, and didn't really save any damsels in distress from the clutches of wicked villains, but we still looked pretty cool walking into the Costume, Candy party on campus!

I think that a lot of times we view college as this place where we put childish things behind us and press forward into the drudgery of adulthood. Why should we ever lose our childlike sense of fun and wonder at the hands of maturity and responsibility? I think we shouldn't always stifle our urges to go and do something goofy just because it seems like a childish thing to do. If we do, we might lose that fun, independent spirit forever.

Of course, whenever I write and endorse a point of view, you can expect a qualification to come with my argument: there is never a time we should abandon common sense in order to have some cheap amusement. Always keep in your mind a clear line that divides foolishness and a good time, because the minute we begin to cross that line we head into dangerous territory that may border upon stupidity.

So bringing it back to the lighthearted side of my argument, why don't you have a little fun next Halloween? Dress up! Go trick or treating! Don't limit your fun to "responsible," "mature" and boring activities. We are in college, and while that means a lot of studying and work, it also means building great friendships through those crazy all-nighters, hilarious dorm room pranks, and the best times of your life thus far.

Enjoy life; keep your inner third grader alive.
